Niger State: 14-year old Girl Gang Raped, in Coma
A 14-year old JSS I girl believed to have been drugged and gang-raped on Saturday in Gangaren sagi area of Kantogora town in Niger State has been in coma since then, Daily Trust reports.
The student according to the report was lured by a gang of three youths into a room. The girl allegedly was in the room from around 11am to after 10 pm and when it became obvious that she was unconscious, they planned to get rid of her.
The Principal Medical Officer of the Hospital, Dr. Tukur Bello, told Daily Trust through his Head of Nursing Services that the girl was induced with drugs and thereafter raped, saying her condition was improving.
Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Richard Oguche, confirmed the incident, saying one of the rapists was arrested while two others were at large. The one arrested has since been arraigned on holding charges as investigation is in progress.
