American sports network ESPN has pulled ESPN and ESPN Classic channels from Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

MultiChoice has received notification from ESPN to close ESPN and ESPN Classic channels in Africa.
According to MultiChoice, this appears to be a business decision by ESPN affecting all its channels in Africa, Europe, and Middle East.
The reason why this decision was taken is not yet known and no official statement has been released by the network besides the message gotten when tuned on to ESPN and ESPN Classic, channels 230 and 231 respectively on DSTV.
