The World's First Hands-Free Umbrella 'NUBRELLA' [Photos]
Enter the Nubrella, which aims to be the world's first hands-free umbrella. It's worn like a backpack and functions like a hood with an aerodynamic canopy design and no pole in the middle.
Nubrella said it has already sold thousands of units around the world, but needs help in growing its business. It's already been featured on the ABC show Shark Tank and now it's looking for funding on crowdsourcing site Kickstarter.
"Nubrella's 'patent pending' new designs are not intended to be a replacement for your traditional umbrella but rather a new weapon in your current arsenal of weather protection gear and apparel," wrote Nubrella founder Alan Kaufman on its Kickstarter page. "Simply put, Nubrella solves existing problems but more importantly serves the huge unmet need of viable hands-free weather protection."
There's no denying that the Nubrella looks funny and something most people would likely not want to wear in public. But then again, when you're fighting with the wind in the middle of a terrible storm, the need to look fashionable suddenly becomes a wash.
The Nubrella comes in various styles and different models are available for specific applications, such as wearing it for sun protection, on a bike or at a sports stadium. It also comes in smaller sizes for kids.

Not bad at all! Although it looks quite big, I believe there'd be modifications made in future. I wouldn't mind having one. Plus, how strong is it against rain winds?
