Nasko’s Running Mate 'KANTIGI' Condemns Attack on Sani Bello's Administration
Deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general elections in Niger State, Liman Kantigi, has cautioned his party on how it plays the opposition saying those re-grouping in the name of PDP to distract the new government have missed the point.
Kantigi said the action of the PDP members trying to undermine the new administration is tantamount to sabotaging not only the government but the state as a whole.
The PDP chieftain said as far as he was concerned, campaign period was over as elections have been won and lost and insisted winners must be allowed to settle down for the business of governance.
He said any unnecessary distraction in the name of opposition would have a negative consequence on the entire state.
Kantigi who made the comments in a statement, said being a bona fide PDP member does not mean he would allow his political interest to be over and above the interest of the state.
Though he did not mention the names of those he said were regrouping, Kantigi said there was need for politicians to have the state first at heart before their political interests hence the need to support any government with good political will aimed at developing the state.
“It is our collective duty to support the new government inasmuch as we want to take our state to a greater height. Some of the Nigerlites, who are spearheading plans to distract the Abubakar Sani Bello’s government do not mean well for the state.
“The governor is not from outside Niger State but an indigene of the state so I see no reason why party difference should be used as a leverage to distract him instead of supporting him.
“As an indigene of the state who always cherishes to see the state developed, it therefore does not mean by declaring support for him in the task of developing the state that I am no longer a member of PDP. I’m in PDP but I will not be a party to those planning to distract a person God has given power to lead us in the state,” Kantigi added. Condemns
