Gov Aliyu's Claims Not True - Ahmed Ibeto
The Deputy Governor of Niger State, Hon. Ahmed Musa Ibeto, for the first time, has reacted to the refusal of Governor Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, to hand over to him when traveling abroad.
In a press conference on Friday in Minna, Niger State, Ibeto said that the claim that he was not in town when the Governor was traveling was not true.
He said that he wrote to the governor to travel twice but he did not approve adding that he has never traveled without the Governor's permission.
"First I wrote that I want to take two weeks out of my leave to travel but no response and I gave another letter to my PA and delivered to his secretary yet no reply, the file is lying in his office now" he said.
Ibeto who also disclosed that his aides have been withdrawn said the constitution makes it automatic for him to took over, albeit in acting capacity, whenever the governor travels out of town.
The deputy governor said that until this last event, the governor had always handed over to him when traveling out of the country by writing the state House of Assembly.
