Terrifying Footage from Inside Cabin Shows Plane Skidding on Touch Down [Watch]
TERRIFYING footage has emerged of the moment a plane carrying 150 passengers touched down then skidded across the rain-soaked tarmac.
Filmed from inside the cabin, the clip reveals the panic among passengers on the Southwest Airlines Flight 345 after its nose landing gear unexpectedly collapsed.
Watch footage under:
Bryan Foster happened to be filming out of the window as the Boeing 737-700 landed at New York's LaGuardia Airport on Monday.
The shock of the plane's nose hitting the runway knocked the camera out of his hand.
But when he picked up the camera and pointed it out of the window, he captured sparks flying from the wing-mounted engine as it dragged along the ground.
Within seconds of the plane coming to a halt, a panicked passenger is heard yelling in fear before another shouts: “Stay in your seat!”
Later, a fire engine is seen dousing the plane in water as a stewardess orders passengers to keep the doors closed.
Ten people were injured on the flight from Nashville, Tennessee. Passengers stayed in the cabin for nearly an hour before they were evacuated on the plane's inflatable ramps.
The airport was closed following the crash-landing, delaying thousands of travellers.
