3 Week Old Abandoned Baby Girl in Osun State Rescued

Osun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare have rescued a three-week-old baby girl abandoned in the street at Oke-Iro, Ilesa.


On Wednesday, in a statement by Director Osun State Ministry of Information, Dapo Ajayi, he said the baby, wrapped in white shawl, was abandoned in a quiet part of the street. Ajayi urged parents, especially mothers, not to abandon their babies.

According to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Oluwakemi Kolawole, the case has been reported to the police.

Kolawole urged members of the public who know the whereabouts of the parents to furnish the ministry of the police with information.

Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Adetoun Adegboyega, restated the commitment of the Rauf Aregbesola administration to protecting the citizenry.

She said, “Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola administration is committed to protecting lives and property. The people of Osun can see the various developmental initiatives the government has taken.

“We implore our people to support the progressive initiatives of the government.”
