Yet Another Bomb Explosion in Jos
Bare a week after two explosions at the Terminus Market killed 118 people, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) believed to have been detonated by a suspected suicide bomber has gone off in the city of Jos.
The incident occurred yesterday 24th May, 2014 at about 8:30pm along Bauchi road, near Red Cross, when a vehicle borne-IED went off, killing the occupant – a suspected suicide bomber and two innocent persons. Two other persons sustained injuries of various degree and have since been rushed to nearby hospital.
Police operatives and personnel of other security agencies have cordoned off the scene. The Commissioner of Police, in charge of Plateau State Command, CP Chris Olakpe, accompanied by heads of other security agencies has already visited the scene for assessment.
The Police are appealing for calm, while security is been beefed up in and around the city.
