Niger State Government Buys 1,000 Cars For Civil Servants
Niger State Government has procured 1,000 cars for sell to civil servants in the state, Gov. Babangida Aliyu, has said.
Aliyu disclosed this on Wednesday in Minna while swearing in five commissioners and the state Head of Service, Alhaji Hamid Kadi-Kuta. He said the vehicles would be sold to workers on the directorate cadre, with five per cent subsidy payeable in four years.
The governor said the gesture was to ease the transportation problems facing some of the workers, and to boost productivity.
He said the vehicles would be issued to the beneficiaries who were expected to repay the loan through their respective banks within the designated period.
Aliyu assured middle level workers in the state that the gesture would be extended to them in due course, assuring them that the government would shoulder 10 per cent of the cost of the vehicles to be issued to them.
