NIGER STATE: Magistrate's Court in Minna Orders Thief To Clean Premises For 3 Months

A musician in Minna, Niger State on Tuesday has been ordered to clean court premises for three months.

The musician, Yusu Abubakar, 28 who pleaded guilty to theft charge, for stealing a generator, was ordered by a magistrates’ court in Minna to clean the court premises as his sentence for the one-count charge of theft filed against him.

According to P.M. News Delivering her judgment, Magistrate Mariam King said that if the convict failed to appear everyday to clean the court premises, he will serve additional three months in prison.

The accused who resides at Sabon Gari Minna was arrested on May 5 after breaking into the house of Mr Mustapha Mohammed where he stole a generator.

The accused confessed to committing the crime during police investigation.
