World's Most Expensive Divorce: Court Orders Russian Oligarch To Pay $4.5 billion To Ex-Wife

A Russian Billionaire has been ordered to pay his ex-wife an eye-watering $4.5 billion in what is thought to be the most expensive divorce settlement in history.

Judges in Switzerland said Dmitry Rybolovlev, 47, has to hand over half his fortune to Elena, his wife of 24 years.

The ruling follows a six-year battle in which Mr Rybolovlev, who made his billions through a fertiliser business, contested his ex-wife's claims to two of their most expensive properties in America and a Greek island.

Ms Rybolovleva won custody of the couple's 13-year-old daughter Anna, along with their former home, a lakeside mansion near Geneva.
