Police Command Begins Enforcement of the Ban on Commercial Motorcycles in Niger State
The Niger State Police Command has started enforcing the ban commercial motorcycles in Minna Metropolis beginning today, January 2.
A Press Statement from the command explained that private motorcycle owners were barred from carrying passengers, wife or children while the motorcycle must be registered with the state government.
The statement further noted that, as a result of the effect of the ban, the government had made adequate arrangement by providing Keke Talba, Luxurious and Toyota Hiace Buses within Minna metropolis to substitute the services of the commercial motorcycles popularly known as Okada.
It also added that the order does not exempt anyone, including security agencies.
