Ledgewood Nigeria Ltd. Empowers Youth with Entrepreneurial and CV-Building Skills at Free Bi-Monthly Seminar.
Dedicated to capacity building and youth empowerment, Ledgewood Nigeria Ltd., a leading social media and business consultancy company, held its second free business development workshop/seminar on the 27th of July 2013 at the Conference Room of the popular restaurant “805” in Wuse 2, Abuja.
The event, which took place , drew a crowd of achievement-driven young Nigerians who seized the opportunity to gain knowledge on how to start their own businesses, while simultaneously learning how to improve their curriculum vitae (CV) to land their dream job and attain career advancement.
“Given the high unemployment rate in Nigeria, with so many Nigerian graduates out of work due to insufficient opportunities, we are passionate about educating our youths on building their capacity and contributing to economic development not only through a formal office job, but through starting their own businesses,” stated Ms. Mitun Dada, Ledgewood Nigeria Ltd’s Creative Director.
“We are also aware that many qualified graduates are not getting the jobs they deserve due to the way they present themselves on their CVs. We are working on solving that problem by teaching those wanting to enter or advance in the country’s workforce, and internationally, how to effectively and excellently present themselves and their qualifications in order to get the job they want.”
Speaking at the event were Mr. Kunle Joe Komolafe, author, transformational speaker and CEO of Creative Concept, who inspired the participants on how to hone their entrepreneurial skills; and Ms. Lore Dada, financial analystand internationally published writer/editor, who educated the event attendees on what recruiters look for on a CV and empowered all with guidelines on CV content and formatting which would make a CV stand out from the crowd.
Kingsley SinTim, a first-time attendee stated, “I am so grateful to Ledgewood Nigeria for hosting this insightful seminar which will really make a difference to employed workers, applicants and even business owners. I am currently working but I was surprised to learn that my CV, which I thought was good, could be exponentially better by following Ms. Lore’s guidelines and using what she called ‘Accomplishment Statements’ to show how I have added value in my past work experience. I am definitely a better person for attending and I look forward to the next seminar.”
Ledgewood Nigeria Ltd.’s next free business development seminar is on Interviewing Skills and How to Properly Brand your Business will be held on September 21st 2013.
