Zuriel, UN Secretary General, Others Quoted for IDGC 2014

It is hard to watch the news these days, read global editorial, or catch the trending issues without the "Girl Child" topic factoring in very strongly along one of these platforms. Africa is believed to have a vast army of untapped economic potential - its Girl Child and Female human capital resource.

As the world marked the 3rd edition of the UN Sanctioned International Day of the Girl Child [IDGC], a fresh look into their education has taken front seat across many genres of publication.

Ventures Africa, a respected African economic monthly publication, has featured the issue in its current e-edition. Unsurprisingly, Zuriel Oduwole, Africa's Girl child education advocate and acclaimed documentary film-maker was quoted in the publication, as part of the feature on the IDGC.

Others quoted I the same light are the UN Secretary General - Ban Ki-Moon, UNDP's Administrator Helen Clark, former South African President - Nelson Mandela, former Mozambique President - Joaquim Chissano, and the Rt Arc Bishop Desmond Tutu.

Last year, Zuriel spent the 2013 IDGC in Tanzania, at the invitation of the President, where she visited several schools and attended a UN event. For 2014, she would be visiting schools in Nigeria, and attending various private and public programs, across the week of the IDGC.
