Governor Aliyu Debunks Rumours of Wife Being Injured in TAN Rally
Niger State Governor, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has debunked media reports that his wife was among the injured during a mishap at a rally in the State.
The Governor spoke against the backdrop of Saturdays’ collapse of a section of the VIP terrace during the north-central rally of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN), which took place in Minna, the Niger state capital.
He said, "I read in some newspapers that my wife was ‘badly injured’ and I wonder where all that was coming from and that is why I want to categorically state that she was not injured".
Governor Aliyu challenged the media organization to desist from misinforming Nigerians.
Aliyu in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebije Israel said although his wife was at the venue as at the time of the ugly incident, but she was unhurt as they were together visiting hospitals where the injured were rushed to for medical attention
