Niger State Government To Set Up Containment Centres For Ebola
Following the notification and subsequent confirmation of the case of Ebola in Nigeria, Niger State government is setting up three containment centres and a quarantine centre for the deadly virus, one for each of the three senatorial districts of the state as well as a quarantine centre for victims of the dreaded disease.
According to The Leadership, Commissioner of Information, Mohammed Danladi Ndayebo and the commissioner of Health, Hajiya Hadiza Abdullahi gave the indication in separate news conferences in Minna yesterday, as part of strategies lined up to sensitise and mobilise the people against the disease in the state.
Mallam Ndayebo said that though the disease is yet to be discovered in the state, the state executive council has set up a six man council committee to coordinate all activities related to the Ebola disease and also embark on mass sensitisation of the public against the outbreak of the disease.
