Doctor Who Treated Patrick Sawyer Dies of Ebola
Dr. Stella Adadevoh, a female consultant physician, in Lagos who headed the medical team that treated Liberian Ebola transporter, Patrick Sawyer has died.
In a statement issued by Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, in a statement through his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Dan Nwomeh, he said that Dr Adadevoh died on Tuesday evening.
"We regret to announce the death of one of the primary contacts of the index case, the most senior doctor who participated in the management of the patient, a female consultant physician, with this unfortunate development the total number of Ebola virus related deaths now stand at five", the statement said.
Prior to her death, Dr Adadevoh was the Lead Consultant at the First Consultants Medical Centre Lagos.
