Speaking at the end of the valedictory session held on Wednesday in honour of the deceased, Governor Aliyu stated that government would consult with the legislature on how best to immortalize the late senator who until his death represented Niger east senatorial district.

He said effort was made by his administration to assist the family, describing the late senator as a committed democrat and legislator who contributed to the growth of democracy in Nigeria.

Governor Aliyu appreciated the session, organized by the State Legislators, to recognize the qualities of a leader and democrat in the state.

Governor Aliyu debunked speculations that there was a rift between him and late Sen. Dahiru Awaisu before his death. Adding that in politics certain variables take place and some people would like to cash-in on it but lucky enough he and the late senator understood, visited and confided in each other prior to his death
