Fraudster who Duped over 700 People Arrested in Niger State
The Niger State Police Command on Monday arrested a man, who claimed to be a Commander General of Elits Community Initiative Corps of Nigeria, after he defrauded over 700 applicants of money running to millions of naira.
The suspect, identified as Olu John Bello, is said to be specialised in defrauding innocent applicants, promising them recruitment into the NGO security outfit.
He is reported to be going to states of the federation parading himself as the commander general of the corps.
Investigation by Punch revealed that Bello was once an officer of the corps but was dismissed February 4, 2014 due to his fraudulent activities.
He was arrested while in possession a personal letterhead paper titled Elite Mission International, which he used in carrying out his dubious activities.
The Police in B Division, Paikoro police station in Minna, Niger State capital, said it had commended investigation into the matter.
