"APC Leadership Should Engage in Constructive Criticisms Rather than Resorting to Backmail" - Gov. Babangida Aliyu
Reacting to allegations made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Niger State chapter, that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has nothing to show for the seven years’ administration of the party despite billions of Naira collected from the Federation Account.
Governor Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Israel Ebije, said the interaction programme held in Abuja was organised by association of civil society groups and not the state government.
He said: "As a responsible government, we embraced the public debate which was indeed a litmus test on the dividends of democracy provided in the last seven years.
"We, as a government, are not afraid of critical appraisals and we have gone beyond petty talks from the opposition which is only trying to propagate self agenda."
Aliyu, therefore, asked the APC leadership to engage in constructive criticisms rather than resorting to blackmail and trying to score cheap popularity.
