Tiwa Savage 'Wanted' Video Causes Outrage among Fans
Nigerian pop star Tiwa Savage has left fans stunned after releasing an ultra-sexy music video for her new track 'Wanted', the latest single from her debut album, Once Upon a Time.
The 34 year-old married star is seen in the the new video, by London-based director Moe Musa, twerking and dancing seductively while caressing her body.
Her decision to flaunt her curves in a revealing catsuit has divided her fans. Some are branding her a disgrace and embarrassment to the conservative Nigerian culture.
"This video is advanced bullshit, first class crap, arrant rubbish and visual assault on my moral sense. It justifies defiance of the Nigerian Image of descent [sic] career focused married womanhood. I am disappointed. This na kelekele embarrassment," events company Dauntless Entertainment wrote on the video's YouTube page.
Another user, Tino Tyno, wrote: "This video is really disappointing for a wife who is an African first of all, our traditions and morals forbid this nonsense and come to speak of it Tiwa, are you doing this for the American audience or for the AFRICAN?"
But reactions weren't all bad. Some of Tiwa's fans hailed her video as daring and forward thinking.
One supporter, music promoter and producer Chekube Azu, said: "Well done Tiwa. Been waiting for a female Naija artist to charge up on some Rihanna shit."
