IGP’s Son Survives as IRS Plane Crash-Lands in Niger Republic

An aircraft belonging to IRS Airlines, owned by Kano business mogul Alhaji Isyaku Rabiu, yesterday 10th May 2014 crash- landed at Niger Republic.


The pilot and the co-pilot who were the only occupants of the plane survived the crash. The co pilot is Capt Jamil Abubakar, the first son of current Inspector General Nigeria Police Force MD Abubakar.

The incident is reported to have occurred yesterday evening at about 7:30pm. The Aircraft was believed to have been on its way back to Nigeria from a C-Check.

The Nigerian Police Force through its official Facebook account confirmed the incident. Sources close to the family of the IGP say Jamil is fine.
