NIGER STATE: Governor Aliyu Reshuffles Cabinet Swears in 5 New Commissioners
The Chief Servant and Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has sworn-in five new commissioners.
Those sworn-in include; Mohammed Danladi Ndayebo (Information, Communication and Integration), Lawal Abass Mohammed (Mining and Solid Minerals), Abubakar Tukur (Finance), Abdulkarim Suleiman Mazakuka (Water Resources) and Isah Liman Kantigi (Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs.
In the same vein, Governor Aliyu also dropped four commissioners including; Mr. Daniel Clifford Shashere (Sports Development), Engr. Baba Jibril (Mining and Solid Minerals), Dr, Ibrahim B. Sule (Health and Hospital Services) and Ahmed Ibrahim Matane (Agriculture and Rural Development).
Other Commissioners either retained their portfolios or were moved to another ministry. Those who were moved to other ministries are; Hajiya Hadiza L. Abdullahi- Health and Hospital Services from Water Resources; the former Head of Services, Barrister Abass Bello is now the commissioner for Science and Technology while the former commissioner of Finance, Mahmud Kpako Bello moved to Ministry of Transportation.
Former Commissioner of Transport, Alhaji Abubakar Garba Mohammed has been moved to Youth Development while his predecessor, Mohammed Kabir Wushishi is now the commissioner for Environment, Parks and Gardens.
The Former commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Yusuf Garba Tagwai is now the commissioner of Sports while the former Chief of Staff, Dr. Joshua Bawa becomes the commissioner for Special Duties.
Meanwhile, the new Head of Service is Alhaji Hamidu Khadi Kuta and the new Chief of Staff to the Governor is former commissioner of Environment, Parks and Gardens, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko.
The Deputy Chief of Staff remains Hon. Mohammed Saba Usman
Those who retained their portfolios are: Hajiya Hassana Jummai Adamu (Gender Affairs); Dr. Peter Sale Sarki (Lands and Housing); Hassan L. Abdullahi (Investment Commerce and Cooperatives); Mrs. Suzan Adishetu Gana (Tourism and Culture); Dr. Isah Yahaya Vatsa (Livestock and Fisheries); Malam Shehu Haruna (Religious Affairs); Danladi Umar Abdulhamid (Education); Alhaji Mu’azu Bawa (Works and Infrastructure); Abdullahi Bawa Wuse (Justice); Dr. Mohammed Bashir Nuhu (Tertiary Education) and Yahaya Dan Sallau (Planning)
