Thugs raided Unity Fountain, in Abuja where a group of #BringBackOurGirls activist have been meeting everyday for the past 29 days to put pressure on the federal government to rescue the over 200 schoolgirls abducted in Chibok, Borno State by Boko Haram last month.
According to The Cable, the attack which happened today Wednesday, is said to have lasted for about 30 minutes, during which the thugs beat up journalists, destroyed chairs, and confiscated cameras and phones.
Policemen at the venue watched on while the thugs attacked civilians with bottles and other sharp objects. “The attack was fierce,” one of the protesters told TheCable. “The attackers acted as if they were on drugs. Some of them were wearing red shirts with the inscription, #releaseOurGirlsNow.”
