Two FRSC Officers, Two VIO Paraded Over Fake Plate Number Business in Niger State

In a bid to check mate the excesses in Federal Road Safety Corps,Niger state police command yesterday  paraded two Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officers and two Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO)in Minna over their alleged involvement in fake national vehicle plate number racketeering.

Speaking after parading the suspects, the Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Command Mr Richard Oguche told Journalists that the force is investigating the case of 'Joint act forgery, criminal breach of trust and cheating'.

He said three months ago four men Yakubu Ahmed (VIO), Abdulmalik Mohammed (VIO), Ibrahim Mohammed (FRSC), Engr Derima Adamu Musa (dismissed FRSC now at large) illegally got 42 national plate numbers.

Oguche hinted our Correspondent that a businessman in Minna wanted vehicle plate numbers for his business vehicles and he got in touch with one of his friend, Abdulmalik (a VIO) and gave him the sum of N1.4 million but got fake plate numbers.

According to Oguche "after investigation, the suspects assured the businessman that he would get his plate numbers. But when he got the numbers he was arrested because it was discovered that the numbers were fake.
