Niger State: Etsu Nupe, IBB & Others at Late Etsu Agaie's Burial

Etsu Nupe  Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar and former military president General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida led top dignitaries to the burial rites of the late Etsu Agaie Alhaji Muhammadu Kudu Abubakar Sunday night in Agaie in Niger State.

The Etsu Nupe, who is the chairman of Niger State Traditional Rulers Council, was among the first who arrived to pay the last tribute to the late Etsu Agaie at the burial that attracted dignitaries from far and wide.

Acting chief imam of Agaie Sheik Usman Emiflako conducted the burial prayer that was also attended by the deputy governor of Niger State, Hon. Ahmed Musa Ibeto, and the former governor of Niger State Engr Abdulkadir Kure.

Etsu Nupe, who was accompanied by Emir of Kontagora Saidu Namaska , Emir of Suleja Malam Awwal Ibrahim and Emir of Lapai to the burial expressed shock over the death of the Etsu Agaie  and prayed for Allah swt to grant him eternal rest.

Also speaking on behalf of the governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, the deputy governor prayed for the late Etsu Agaie, adding that the loss was not only for the people of Agaie but the entire Niger State and Nigeria.

He stated that the death of Etsu Agaie has left a great vacuum and prayed that Allah swt should grant those left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.

Also conducting the prayers, the acting chief imam prayed for the repose of the soul of the Etsu Agaie.

The cleric reminded all that life and all in it were transient and, as such, he advised all to leave a good impression behind as the Agaie did.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Nupe Council of Elders and former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Idris Kutigi, has paid glowing tributes to the late Abubakar Kudu, saying that the late Etsu Agaie would be greatly missed. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, also sent his condolences to the family of the Late monarch, the government and people of Niger State.
