Baby Starts Breathing Again After Being Pronounced Dead
Just after giving birth, about 9p.m(WAT) Friday, Robin Cyr was told that her nine pound-14 ounce baby girl got stuck in the birth canal during delivery at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, N.S., Canada.
The heartbroken mother, 34, sat staring her child for 25 minutes hoping for a sign of life, before the baby was declared dead and taken from the room.
"My aunt was there, and it's a blessing because her prayers are very deep and strong," said Cyr. "When she started praying, my baby came back."
A nurse hurried into the room, almost speechless, and said the baby was breathing. The surgeon was stumped.
"He said it's a miracle," Cyr told Metro. "He said, 'I'm very sorry I gave up on your baby when I did, because I turned around and she's breathing on her own."
According to Daily News, the hospital is reviewing the apparent resurrection to determine a possible medical explanation.
