Senator Ibrahim Musa Emerges as Niger State APC Interim Chairman

The two factional leaders of the Niger State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have reconciled their differences as both yesterday agreed to step aside to allow a neutral person and the only senator from the party to serve as the interim chairman.

Addressing newsmen yesterday after the reconciliation meeting in Minna, Senator Ibrahim Musa representing, the Niger North senatorial district said the two factions had all their difference resolved in the greater interest of the party.

He said; "As you know, we belong to one party and we are working closely together in the interest of party and the ordinary Nigerians that we are striving to better their lots".

He added that under the agreement reached, he would head the party whereas the chairmen of the legacy parties would continue to assist him as deputy leaders in running the affairs of the party, saying the present arrangement is what is tenable in the template of the party.

He said: "The deputies include Alhaji Umaru Shuaibu of former CPC, Mrs Afiniki Dauda of former ANPP and Mr Solomon Nyaze of the ACN. We are from one family, belonging to one father, therefore it was easy for us to reconcile ourselves so that we can allow the party grow and get ready for the crucial battle for the 2015 elections at the state and national levels."

According to him with the present development, the party would settle for the commencement of registration of its members which had since started in some states said, the state registration will take effect as from today.
