Hon. Bago Expresses His Disappointment at Gov. Aliyu's Decision To Remain in PDP

Hon. Umaru Mohammed Bago representing Chanchaga Federal Constituency of Niger State in the House of Representatives in an interview with Sunday Trust expressed his disappointment at Niger State's Governor Babangida Aliyu's decision to remain in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Bago, in the interview, also spoke on the challenges facing the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State and the impact which the defected governors would have on APC among others.

When asked how he would relate with Governor Babangida Aliyu if he defects to APC, Bago said:
"We don’t have problems with that. We will welcome him. But he will not come with the rascality of the PDP. He will not transfer those things to us. He will come to embrace our ideology. He will come to respect the rule of law. He will come to work for the people, not for himself."
Furthermore when asked how he would harmonise his position with those who said they don’t want Gov, Aliyu in APC, he replied:
"He, first of all, championed this course. Then he backslides. This is not good for a leader. I sent him a sms congratulating and welcoming him to APC. But he later told me that it’s not yet and that he was still in PDP. I was disappointed. I like him. He is my brother. But when it comes to his policy, I can criticise him in that respect. If a party has failed, its entire product will fail. If a tree is decayed, all its fruits will be rotten. Some of them are good, young and vibrant. But they are products of rotten tree of a party. Who is going to ask questions or probe you, the giver or taker?"
