Woman Falls To Death after Meeting with Governor Aliyu

Hajiya Bilkisu Mahmoud, on Monday, fainted and died after a meeting with Niger State governor, Dr Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu.


Contrary to reports that Mohmoud died before meeting the Chief Servant in his office, according to reliable sources the 46-year-old woman actually met with the governor, had a meeting but suddenly fainted afterwards before exiting the Government house.

She was quickly rushed to General Hospital, Minna, with a Government House ambulance and was confirmed her dead on arrival by doctors

The late Mahmoud who according to Nigerian Tribune suffered from asthma was a former Staff Officer to the Niger State deputy governor.

The Niger Times further gathered that Mahmoud who was overweight and had a heart condition was on a private visit to Governor Aliyu as her name was not among the names on the protocol list to see the governor.

Mahmoud, a mother of three, retired from the state civil service three years ago and until her death, was a staff of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency.

There had been no official statement from the government as of the time of filling this report, but the governor was said to have left his office immediately after the incident.
