NAF Establishes New Air Warfare Centre in Niger State

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has established a new Air Warfare Centre in Kainji, Niger State.


The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Alex Badeh, announced the establishment of the new NAF platform yesterday, during the redeployment of some senior officers of the Service.

Baded said the new development is to enhance efforts to tackle the ongoing security challenges in the country, especially Boko Haram.

Badeh in a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Yusuf Anas, said the changes, which followed similar action by the Nigerian Army and Navy, were required, following the recent promotion of its senior officers.

According to reports by Thisday, The Chief of Air Staff appointed Air Vice Marshal (AVM) AA Zannah to take charge of the newly established Air Warfare Centre, Kainji; while AVM SB Abubakar, is the new Air Officer Commanding, Training Command, Kaduna and  AVM I Umar, moves to Defence Headquarters as Chief of Policy and Plans.
