Lagos' Governor Babatunde Fashola Named Top Global Thinker of 2013

Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola has been featured in the Lo Spazio della Politica (LSDP) list of top 100 global thinkers of 2013.


The list which has been complied every year since 2009, was published on the official website of LSDP, emphasizes mostly on political leaders, businessmen, scientists, academics and intellectuals trying to balance the geographic representation between Europe, the United States, Africa and other continent.

According to LSDP, Governor Fashola was included in 2013 list because he made Lagos an African hub of innovation, launching the Lagos Innovation Advisory Council, with the help of the Harvard Kennedy School.

The list also includes Popo Francis, Former Prime Minister of China Zhu Rongji and Nigerian scholar Adefunke Ekine, for her promotion of science among young female students in Africa.

In addition to individuals, LSDP also includes companies, objects, research projects and public policies. According the the body, even if those things do not “think”, they often lead us to think.
