January 14 Declared as Eid-el-Maulud Public Holiday

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday, January 14, as public holiday to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration nationwide.


A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Mrs. Fatima Bamidele, on Thursday in Abuja, called on all Muslims and Nigerians in general to support President Goodluck Jonathan in his sustained effort to build a peaceful, united and virile nation.

The Ministry urged all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity and growth of the nation. Also, the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, wished Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
