Zuriel Oduwole Debuts on Chinese Central Television, Speaks Mandarin
11-year-old Nigerian media correspondent Zuriel Oduwole, who has been touted as the next Larry King and Oprah Winfrey, exploded on the global scene when she was featured in the August 2013 edition of Forbes Africa.
She is on headlines again as she just made her debut to the Chinese audience via her first interview for the China Central Television or Chinese Central Television, commonly known as CCTV.
The Ethiopian Airlines Global Youth Ambassador was remarkable, as she spoke to her audience in Mandarin (a Chinese Language), to the delight of the interviewer.
China is becoming the dominant partner in Africa’s infrastructure development, and Zuriel is already showing the way in what the next generation of Africa is embarking upon to be equals and empowered to deal intelligently, with the next generation of Chinese leaders.

Zuriel Oduwole was featured in the list of New Africa Magazine's December 2013 list of Africa’s 100 Most Influential people along with other notable figures as Nigeria’s finance minister Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Ghana’s Foreign Minister Hannah Tetteh, Nigerias’s Central bank Governor Sanusi Lamiso Sanusi, Billionaire Businessman Aliko Dangote, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and many other highly accomplished individuals.
She was the youngest person on the list, by a very wide margin at just 11 years old. Said by a seasoned journalist – she is what Africa should be, and what all parents want their children to be.
