Police Bans the Use of Fireworks and Knockouts in Niger State

The Niger State Police Command has banned the use of Fireworks and Knockouts during and after the Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state.


According to State's government official Facebook page, the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Mrs. Diseye Desire Nserem, announced the ban in a press statement, said that any person caught selling or engaging in the use of any explosive would face the full wrath of the law.

Mrs. Diseye Desire Nserem assured that the command would provide adequate security in the state during the celebrations as policemen would be dispatched to worship centers, public parks and other sensitive places to ensure safety if lives and property in the state.

The Commissioner, while wishing Nigerlites and the Chief Servant, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, happy Christmas and the New Year celebration, also called for cooperation between the police and the public to check crime rate in the state.
