Gunmen Kill Groom, 30 Others in Wedding Convoy in Borno State
Not less than 30 people including the groom were killed when gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram terrorist organization attacked a wedding convoy on the Bama-Banki Road in Borno State.
Survivors disclosed on Sunday that the groom and well wishers were ambushed on Saturday on their way back to Maiduguri after the wedding ceremony which took place in Michika, a town in Adamawa State.
Bama, a border town is known to be one of the strongholds of the Boko Haram sect, Incidentally, Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States are still under a state of emergency declared by the President in other to curb the violence unleashed on citizens by the terrorist sect. .
The new anti-terror task force spokesman for Borno could not be reached at the time of filing the report.
