Governor Aliyu Unhappy with Progress of Work on Minna City Center Tower

The Chief Servant and Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has directed the contractor handling the Minna City Center Tower to hasten activity on the site and ensure that the project was completed on schedule.

Speaking while on an unscheduled visit to the project site located at the Minna old Market, Governor Aliyu expressed unhappiness with the pace of work which commenced over two months ago.He warned the construction firm, Messrs MBHH Nigeria Limited to speed up action to complete the project according to time and specifications.

According to him, government had given approval for the project and was making monthly payment to the contractor, hence the need to show impressive progress.

Governor Aliyu affirmed that he would not tolerate corruption and politicization in the project execution. He told the General Manager of the company, Mr. Isham to respect the government or he would take up the issue with United Arab Emirate or its Ambassador in Nigeria. The Governor, then, directed the General Manager to submit to him the schedule of the projects and their period of completion.Responding, the project consultant, Engineer R. C. Ofor said the General Manager was not at the site and assured that he would be communicated.

The Minna City Center Tower would cost over N1Billion and the state government has paid up to 24 per cent of the amount to the company.
