Daredevil Sets Record by Walking Between Skyscrapers on Tightrope

An Austrian daredevil has set a world record by walking a 'slackline' tightrope at 607ft above the streets of Frankfurt without a pole.

Reinhad Kleindl performed his terrifying feat on Saturday to establish a new world record for an urban highwire in the sport.

Slacklining is distinguished from normal tightrope walking because of the very different nature of the line used. Whereas tightrope walks use ropes or cables held taught and straight across a gap, 'slackliners' walk across a flat nylon or polyester belt that bounces up and down like a very long, very narrow trampolin

That gives slackliners the ability to perform all manner of tricks - though given the circumstances, and the apparent flimsiness of the safety line holding him, we'll forgive Kleindl for not doing any crazy stunts during his terrifying display.
