Gov Aliyu Warns Presidency of SNITCHES in Niger State PDP
The Governor and Chief servant of Niger State Dr Babangida Aliyu Wednesday said that his stance on the PDP crisis has now been proven to be right because those who opposed his support for President Goodluck Jonathan way back in 2011 are now those who want to cash in on the crisis pretending to be his friends.
Governor Aliyu while warning the Presidency and the party to be wary of wolves in sheep clothing said these enemies of President Jonathan wants to enter the house through the back door.
Aliyu made the remarks in Minna when he received the Vice Chairman of the PDP in the North Central Zone Mr Yussuf Ayetogu who called on him at government house.
According to him: “I think I am right because now in Niger State, the people who fought me against voting for Jonathan are the ones now fighting for him. It means that whatever I'm doing, I am right because if now they want to show me that they love my President more than I do, then it means that I've always been right from day one.
“Nobody wants President Jonathan to be removed all we are saying is that we should be democratic in all our dealings with each other: The ongoing talks to find solution to the lingering crisis within the People Democratic Party (PDP) will be pursued to its logical conclusion.
“We a discussing and negotiating we will see the negotiation to its logical conclusion, our idea is to reform the PDP. When there is no justice we will have problem, we need to sit down and make corrections.
“I am one of the G7 governors as a matter of ‘principle’. When autocracy and dictatorship takes the place of democracy, people with democratic minds must come out and act in defence of democracy”.
The PDP had been embroiled in crisis since the special national convention of the party which saw some governors and their delegates walking out of the venue over what they described as undemocratic display by the leadership of the party.
The crisis has also led to the forming of what is now known as the G7 Governors who are asking for the democratization of the party.
Earlier the North Central Zone Mr Yussuf Ayetogu had told the governor that there is the need for quick resolution of the crisis because the 2015 election is around the corner.
Mr. Ayeogu said that the North Central Zone of the party had constituted a committee to liaise with the governors in the zone on how to resolve the dispute saying that the committee had met with the Benue state Governor Mr. Gabriel Suswan.
