Pastor Arrested for Raping 12-Year-Old Girl in Ogun State

A 22-year-old pastor of a Cherubim and Seraphim church Imoleayo Adekoya was on Sunday arrested by the police in Sagamu, Ogun State for raping a 12-year-old girl in a bushy area around his house on Saturday.

The Niger Times gathered that a search party was organized to look for the victim of the rape when she did not return home on time, having been sent on an errand by her mother to a nearby market. Findings revealed that she was on her way when she was lured into the bush by the suspect.

The girl was seen helpless with blood all over her when the search party came across her in the late hours of Saturday.

The Niger Times’s findings revealed that the case has been transferred to the State CID, Eleweran, Abeokuta for thorough investigation.

While confirming the incident, the PPRO of the Ogun State Police Command, Mr Muyiwa Adejobi stated that the suspect confessed to the crime and will appear in court soon.

The Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Ikemefuna Okoye has assured the parents of the victim and the people of Ogun State of justice in the matter. He also warned those who are fond of raping women, particularly minors to stop as the command will no longer tolerate such obnoxious acts.
