Niger State Emerges Second Overall in the 27th edition of the National Festival of Arts and Culture

Niger State emerged the overall second, in the just concluded edition of the National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) having come first in three of the competitive events.


Host state Bayelsa, emerged the overall winner of the festival clinching the first position in traditional storytelling, traditional wrestling, and traditional cuisine/food fair.The state also took second position in traditional dance and music, 4th position in Arts and Crafts, 2nd position in traditional furnished apartment, and 4th position in essay writing.

Cross Rivers State emerged as third overall best; while Ebonyi and Rivers State emerged 4th overall bests.

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, represented by his deputy, Rear Admiral John Gboribiogha Jonah (rtd),while declaring the event closed on Saturday, commended the participants for living up to the expectation of President Goodluck Jonathan by maintaining peaceful coexistence throughout the period of the festival.
