Ghanaian Rapper Sakodie Makes Forbes Top ten Richest Artist in Africa
Award winning Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has made to the eight rank of Forbes' top 10 Richest African Artists list.
The list has been compiled collectively by Forbes and Channel O. The criteria for ranking the artists in this list was the sales, brand and endorsement value, influence, show rates, views on you tube , investments, popularity and social media presence.
U. S based singer and rapper Akon has topped the list, while the second position is of Nigerian star Don Jazzy, who is Marvin Crew CEO and a music composer. The artists putting up the third, fourth and fifth ranks in the list are P Sqaure (twin brothers Paul Okoye and Peter), D'Banj and Wizkid, respectively.
Don Jazzy has won numerous awards for his songs and music, as well. Earlier, he was the CEO of Mo' Hits, a Nigerian label established in the partnership of his childhood friend D'Banj in the year 2004. Later on he took his own way and founded Mavin Crew in the year 2012. After Jazzy left his position in Mo' Hits, earlier Vice president, D'Banj became the President.
Most of the artists who made to the list are Nigerians, proving that the music industry in the country is doing very well.
