8 Suspected Oil Pipeline Vandals Apprehended in Niger State
The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended eight suspected petroleum products pipeline vandals and impounded a Mack truck, an 18 seater Mazda bus and a Mazda 323 car.
The state command of the NSCDC, on Friday, said it had arrested eight suspected oil pipeline vandals in different areas and had seized a 35,000 litre Mack truck during a crack down on the hoodlums.
Mr Ikemefuna Izuka, the corps commandant in the state, made the disclosure in Minna, while briefing journalists on the recent breakthrough made by the command.
“Recently, we noticed that vandaling of oil pipelines in Niger State has become a profession.
"All those people who ordinaryly, would have been working on farm land as farmers because of the ease with which they get petroleum product and sell, have resorted to vandalism in full scale," he said.
