Did You Know?: Real Madrid Insured Cristiano Ronaldo's Legs for £90million
Real Madrid insured Cristiano Ronaldo's legs after being tackled in a Peace Cup semi-final pre-season game against Juventus in Seville back in 2009 for £90million.
The then 24-year-old winger was given all-clear by doctors but Real Madrid was nervous he might pick up a long-term injury in the future.
Real had paid £80m world-record fee to Manchester United for Ronaldo and decided to take steps to protect their investment by taking out a £90million insurance policy after the injury scare.
