All Youth organization in Northern Nigeria came together to harmonize and discuss a collective way to tackle the challenges that has been facing the Northern Nigeria for years.

Former Inspector General (IG) of Police and Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Alhaji Ibrahim Commassie, who chaired the event under the theme, ‘Stronger Together’ tasked northern youth groups to unite themselves irrespective of tribe and religious differences, saying that is the only way the future of the region can be safeguarded.

According to him, the best the youth can do for the region and country is to come together and speak with one voice.

He spoke of unemployment, insecurity, selfishness, lack of integrity and desire to contribute meaningfully to the overall development of the region.

He said this is so because the present crop of leaders have not envisaged the present time which negates the lessons and ideology of youth empowerment, unity and tolerance the late Northern Premier, Sir Ahmadu Bello, brought to the fore and which they benefited from.

The youth summit was aimed at restoring the old glory of the North and preparing youths from the region for the leadership roles in the nearest future.

Delegates representing various organization across the Northern Nigeria also made meaningfully contributions, sharing their views on how to tackle the current challenges in the North, most especially that of insecurity & unemployment bedeviling the region.

In his remarks, the Vice Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the summit, Mohammed Ibrahim Jega, said the concept of the summit is to discuss the challenges facing the North and then chart a new way for its development.

He said the youths, who are part of the summit, are professionals from different fields and are capable of contributing tremendously to the uplifting of the region through their wealth of knowledge and experience. See pictures and video below:
